It is called ofe owerri because it is an indigenous soup of the owerri people of Imo state. Ofe Owerri , which is usually prepared with two different vegetables namely Uziza and Ugu or Uziza and Ukazi, is a favourite of the Igbos from Imo State, South-eastern Nigeria.

  2. Add the blended pepper and onions add the seasoning and salt to taste
  3. Add a little water and cook until the meat is tender
  4. Add the oil and the soup thickener allow to cook for some minutes until it thickens
  5. Add the crayfish and the smoked fish
  6. Add the ukazi leaf and cook for 2 minuets
  7. Then add the uguw leaf last and stir
  8. Serve with any swallow of your choice
