  2. Make ready medium size potatoes boiled
  3. Get ghee plus oil to fry

  8. Prepare yoghurt
  9. Take cloves
  10. Prepare turmeric powder

My own way of serving Mochar Chops: I added a handful of alfalfa sprouts to the plate, alongside tomato ketchup! Ask any Bengali, and you'll surely find the mention of this vegetarian street food. Here is the recipe of mochar chop or banana flower cutlet Recipe. For this chop/cutlet I used some frozen left over Mochar Ghonto or Banana Flower Veggy from previous night.

Step by Step to make Mochar Chop:
  1. Wash the Mocha, cut and smear with turmeric powder. In a wok heat water and boil the Mocha. Approx 25 mins.
  2. Take muri in a blender and blend to make powder
  3. In a cooker heat water and add the potatoes to boil. Once boiled cool, peel and mash them. Fry the Chura
  4. In a wok heat ghee and add crushed cloves. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, ginger paste, asafoetida, yoghurt and stir very well. Cook until all are mixed well and add the Mocha. Mix all the masalas with Mocha and when it’s a little dry add salt, fried chura, raisins and garam masala powder. Mix everything well and set aside.
  5. Mash the potatoes and make balls. Insert the cooked Mocha into the Potato balls
  6. In a bowl break the egg and beat well.
  7. Dip the Mocha Balls into the egg and then Muri powder and set aside
  8. In a wok heat oil and slowly add the Mocha Chop into it. Deep fry for 2 mins and flip the other side and fry for 1 min. Do in batches
  9. Plate and enjoy with any beverage
